NUPECCE also develops educational activities for both the academic community and the general public. Technical training programs (internships) are offered annually throughout January and July. The internship addresses both practical activities  (captive management, ecological study techniques, genetics techniques, and animal reproduction laboratory), as well as theoretical subjects (basic classes on our areas of expertise, presentation of our projects, and conservation biology issues).

Awakening to Science Project

The project, created in 2017, aims to encourage public school students in the last year of elementary school to understand the scientific method. This project is the combination of initiatives by members of FCAV / UNESP, FUNEP, the Municipality of Jaboticabal, and Imeve Biotecnologia, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. José Maurício Barbanti Duarte. Our team develops practical and dynamic classes capable of stimulating the understanding of the scientific method playfully. The classes involve scientific experiments in different areas of knowledge, capable of helping to contextualize the scientific method. At the end of the project, teenagers can understand science as something built in stages, managing to formulate hypotheses for the given situations and to propose experiments to test these hypotheses. Besides, it is understood that this initiative reaffirms to the local community the importance of science and the relevance of the university.

On the other hand, NUPECCE also receives visits from students and research groups (with prior appointment). Learn more at Contact Us.
